Nicole Lunsford, Coaching Sub
Nicole Lunsford has been involved in athletics and arts since she was a young. She is a graduate of Cincinnati’s School for Creative and Performing Arts. Her majors were Vocal, Dance, and Drama. She was a gymnast at American Eagle Gymnastics for over ten years and has been in a variety of musicals and plays.
Before attending SCPA, Nicole was a member of the Archbishop McNicholas High School Dance Team, The Rockettes. The team competed in Hip Hop, Pom, Kick, and the Open categories and won Nationals two years in a row. They even had the opportunity to dance in the half time routine at the Orange Bowl.
After graduation, Nicole decided to keep dance as a hobby. She began playing soccer co-recreationally and enjoyed the energy and competitiveness. She attended the University of Cincinnati to become a pharmacist. But sports were always number one. She received the opportunity to teach dance. After teaching dance for a couple of years, she knew she was born to teach and expand the minds of the youth.
A few years after her dance teaching career began, she received the opportunity to teach soccer. During her years of teaching, she has expanded her knowledge in many dance forms such as: Tap, Ballet, Jazz, Musical Theater, Hip Hop, Acro, Cheer, Kick and many others. She believes soccer and dance are very closely related. Soccer has become like a dance to her. She has also enjoyed learning how each student develops differently.
Nicole is excited to be teaching the Happy Feet Students. She wants every student to grow in more areas than just soccer. When a student finds a passion, they achieve in everything.
